The organization is so far up their butts looking into the 2010 season that they seem to care less about what is going on this year. Sure, they might be making all the right moves to give LeBron James the most money that is available to a player, but regardless of money, why would James leave when he won't have very many options around him.

Unfortunately for the Knicks, the great three-year athlete that he was at Georgetown turned into a horrible NBA player. There was a lot of hype around this guy, because of his physical play inside. Although he was a smaller big man, he was the only player in college basketball to rank in the Top 20 in both scoring and rebounding of all the players in the draft that year.

Most of my post are opinion based, but here are the facts. The first ever Draft took place in 1947. For 18 seasons, there were anywhere from 13 to 17 rounds to pick through, featuring something called territorial picks. Teams that were having a harder time drawing fans could chose not to use its first-round pick and select a local player instead, hoping they would bring in an already established fan base.

Say Swine Flu keeps spreading. Say it gets worse, like "Outbreak" worse, and the majority of people in the US get it, including LeBron James. I still don't think I could beat him one-on-one. Even if it was first to score. Or if we played "PIG." Remember when Jordan had the flu in the '88 playoffs, and he dropped 47 against the Knicks, AT the Garden??? We spectators/bloggers/sports fans seriously over-estimate the flu. If LeBron had swine flu, not only would he stuff me like a Quizno's Torpedo, he would still be able to beat the following athletes/teams:

So, its clear that the Knicks 2009 season ended the way we all expected. When Mike D'Antoni was introduced to New York on May 13th 2008,and he promised that his teams would play hard and they would be exciting. He told us to buckle up our seat belts and watch them go for it. And, at the outset it looked like the Knicks could have made the playoffs. Before December, they were 8-8, and play like that could have gotten them into the playoffs, but then the financials got in the way. Donnie Walsh felt that, ( or so it appears) waiting for the end of the season to make moves for 2010 would be too long. Jamal Crawford was traded on Nov 21, for  disgruntled Al Harrington from Golden State, (a player i thought the Knicks could have benefited from trading for) although he has a termination clause after this season. They traded away Zach Randolph and Marty Colllins a couple of hours later on the same day for Cuttino Mobley and Tim THomas. These moves gave the Knicks great opportunity to lose game after game after game. Cuttino Mobley retired, after doctor after doctors told him his hyperthrophic cardiomyopathy progressively got worse. Although they couldn't predict that he would have to retire, they also didn't think that these guys would ever really make it to the playoffs, how could they?

One day after the NBA Trade Deadline passed, many Knicks played like they had a world of pressure taken off their shoulders.  With much speculation swirling around whether or not the Knicks would deal away enigmatic guard Nate Robinson and workhorse David Lee, both were able to breath easier last night knowing that they'd be playing in New York for the remainder of the season.

Okay, let's just be honest here.  Nate Robinson may not have fully deserved the 2006 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Title, but he sure earned it this year.  Nate battled the defending champion, Dwight Howard, in the Finals and one-upped the ultimate gamesman in the end.  Together they put on possibly the greatest show in the history of the contest since the days of Michael Jordan battling Dominique Wilkins.

Today, the Toronto Raptors traded Jermaine O'Neal, Jamario Moon, and a lottery-protected first round pick to the Miami Heat in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks.  On the surface this looks like a great trade for the Heat, but it can also cause potential problems for the Knicks as they do battle with the Raptors twice next week and will continue to battle them down the stretch in the Chase For The Eighth Seed.

Despite a tough 116-110 loss in Philadelphia tonight, the New York Knicks are playing surprisingly well under their new head coach, Mike D'Antoni. The Knicks had won three in a row prior to this evening's contest, including an impressive victory over D'Antoni's old team, the immensely-talented Phoenix Suns.

Following the trades that sent Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph packing, for a short while, the Knicks seemed like they'd be able to survive the core-shaking changes to their roster. With the MLB playoffs set to begin, there is a subtle difference in the air compared to start of any other postseason. In the NHL, fans can potentially look forward to a great Canadians/Bruins series that is not only exciting, but has a historical kick to it. Likewise basketball fans always have the chance to see if the Suns can finally get past the Spurs and football fans love seeing the rivalry of the Eagles Vs the City of Philadelphia when the Eagles so much as get tackled for a loss.

Stephon Marbury don't fret, you are still the Knicks most electric, talented and impactful player on the roster- and it looks like it will stay that way for at least one last season. While Chris Duhon will make for a great backup point guard for the Knickerbockers, all stock has been put in the free agent Class of 2010...and rightfully so. Duhon received a 2 year deal, as to not get in the way of the courtship of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James or Carmelo Anthony in a few years. But Duhon offers more. He's a steady point guard, who dishes the ball, protects the ball, and shoots the ball with success. That being said, he is a nice player, not a thunder stealer from Stephon Marbury, the man who knows he must resurrect his career before he hits free agency. The player who knows that if he can't succeed in the fun and gun style of Mike D'Antoni, where would he succeed? The player that knows he now must live up to the $21.8 million salary he has this year.
