After an uneventful one-year stint with the New York Giants, Warner moved to the desert to suit-up for the equally woeful Cardinals in 2005.

Understandably, Minnesota’s brass tired of Moss and in the spring of 2005 they shipped the malcontent to the Oakland Raiders for linebacker Napoleon Harris and draft picks.

Monday Morning Moneyball: Week 2- Big Apple Stars Are Born!
Welcome to Monday Morning Moneyball! Week 2 provided us with two New York tales of triumph that not only bucked old trends, but also may have unveiled the dawn of a new quarterback era in green and wide receiver tandem in blue. We start with the J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS! All week, media outlets all over the country have been replaying Rex Ryan’s message to the Jets season ticket holders. 70 seconds of fanfare and propaganda from Ryan begged for support over and beyond the norm from the Jets faithful, and his message was reiterated by Kerry Rhodes and several other Jets players, and the message was simple: We can beat the Patriots. That they did, 16-9, showing off their Baltimore style dominant defense that Ryan has brought over from the Raven dynasty. While I’ll delve into New England’s deficiencies in my Money Bites below, praise needs to be given to Mark Sanchez for his 2nd consecutive strong performance. While his numbers weren’t gaudy (14 of 22, 163 yards with 1 TD, 0 Int), his 101.1 passer rating is indicative of his efficient performance. Sanchez did everything Ryan and the Jets could ask of him in his rookie season. He stayed away from risky unnecessary throws, threw for a 65% completion percentage in the second half and executed on big plays down the stretch, including the go-ahead touchdown strike to Dustin Keller. Watch out young QB society, Tom Brady, and everyone else in the AFC, if Sanchez keeps up this act, the Jets will be a team to be reckoned with come January.

Sanchez, 22, completed 13 of 20 passes for 149 yards in his first start since Head Coach Rex Ryan named him the No. 1 quarterback last Tuesday after a game versus the Ravens in Baltimore.

(The Plaxico Burress Story.)
The New York Football Giants went 11-1 today in a convincing win against the Washington Redskins. The Giants won the division showdown without star receiver Plaxico Burress as he was home recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the thigh.

It’s been a weird year, especially for sports. The Boston Celtics finally picked themselves up from the bootstraps to win a championship. Neither the Red Sox nor the Yankees amounted to anything more than a bunch of overpaid whiners. They are even tearing down Yankee Stadium.

Eli Manning is really coming into his own now.
Giants can't let up on the Browns
Dallas is still most talented team, but Giants playing as a real unit.
Plaxico is back and JACOBS is a beast.

Ok we are 3-0 now but can't let up.
Skins show they have talent after beating Dallas.
Dallas stiil has probably the best personel,
but Eagles no slouch either.
We need to win games against teams like Seattle

With the MLB playoffs set to begin, there is a subtle difference in the air compared to start of any other postseason. In the NHL, fans can potentially look forward to a great Canadians/Bruins series that is not only exciting, but has a historical kick to it. Likewise basketball fans always have the chance to see if the Suns can finally get past the Spurs and football fans love seeing the rivalry of the Eagles Vs the City of Philadelphia when the Eagles so much as get tackled for a loss.

Ok we bested the Skins and Zorn
Now we need to blunt the Rams horn
Stephen Jackson is still a heck of a back
So we need to be careful of their attack
Pound Jacobs on the ground
Yet let Eli fling it around

One of the best things to come out of the Giants victory over the Skins was they remained relatively healthy.
The first week saw Tom Brady go down, Vince Young go down, and Peyton looking very "Eli" ish.

The "Gents" showed they are ready for 20080-2009 season.
They whipped the "ladies" of Washington - or scalped them at least.
Plaxico showed he his no longer made of glass -he shed that plexiglass nickname.

JEREMY SHOCKEY FOR JASON TAYLOR?
Legendary New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan retired last week after playing 15-seasons in the National Football League. Strahan’s retirement leaves the Big Blue with a void on their defensive line and some have speculated that the Giants may attempt to fill that space by negotiating a trade with the Miami Dolphins for their DE Jason Taylor. To attain one of People magazine’s “Most Beautiful People” of 2008, New York would allegedly send their disgruntled tight end, Jeremy Shockey, 27, to South Beach for Taylor, 33.

President's Day. What a Holiday! It's a reminder that winter is winding down and your treated to a nice little three day weekend. There's nothing more fun than a day off in February. When March 1st rolls around, it is time for all true sports fans to get ready to rock and roll with the three headed monster. March Madness, Beisbol and to cap it off the NBA is going to prove why it really is Fantastic Get jacked folks.

Boston and New York have been fighting a sports war on multiple fronts for more than a century. Baseball, football, hockey, basketball: you name the championship, our teams have battled over it. Up until a few years ago, New York seemed to have the edge. Even though the Patriots were winning, their other teams seemed incapable of making the all-important final round of the playoffs. The Knicks were hot throughout the 90’s, while the Celtics were not. The Yankees were World Series Champions, leaving The Red Sox in the Wild Card. I disqualify hockey because both the Bruins and the Rangers stunk for a few years there, but you get the basic gist. New York had the lead. “The curse” kept Boston beneath us in the sports world. Then, everything changed.

I have never claimed to be an expert when it comes to predicting outcomes of football games, although last year I nearly predicted the exact final score of the Super Bowl while hitting on seven of my nine prop bets. (My prediction was 26-17, the final was 29-17.) For whatever reason I had a very good feel for that game. This year's Super Bowl, however, remains a mystery to me. Part of the reason I am having trouble getting a good feel for this game is that I am a bitter Jets fan and I can't stand either team. I'm finding it difficult to put my personal feelings aside and look at the game objectively. I think right now I am as close to objectivity as I am going to get, and with that being said, here is my official Super Bowl XLII prediction.

There is definitely a collective theme being preached by the Big Apple media to the New York Giants. It's all over the New York sports sections today. It's a simple plan really, but a mighty task for the Big Blue defense. Ya see, if the Giants truly want to win this Super Bowl, if they want to bring glory to the greatest city in the world, they are going to have to hit Tom Brady like he has never been hit before. They need to hit him in the legs, throw him to the ground, and even attack that famous gimpy ankle of his. The only way the Giants get to lift that glorious silver Lombardi trophy is by leaving Tom Brady lying on the ground like a wounded soldier. A wounded soldier who throws wounded ducks.

One of the great stories about this New York Giants team is the personality transformation of the head coach. During his first three years Tom Coughlin was known as a hard nosed, no nonsense disciplinarian whose stubborn coaching methods held him back from truly connecting with his players. This season, however, it is evident that Coughlin has become much more approachable, not just to his players, but to the media as well. In interviews Coughlin is much more animated than in past years, engaging reporters in conversation and sometimes even joking around And the players don't have to duck their heads anymore when they pass Coughlin in the weight room.
