Derek Jeter is a hero on the field and a role model off of it posted on 07/10/2011

Legendary Yankees captain Derek Jeter went 5-5 and recorded his 3,000th career hit with a third inning home run to lead New York to a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

Jeter, the 28th player in baseball history to reach the 3,000 hit plateau and, at 37 years and 13 days old, the fourth youngest to do so, even managed to slap the game-winning single in the eight inning.

"If I had tried to write it and given it to somebody, I wouldn't have even bought it, to be quite honest with you," Jeter said to ESPN.com. "It is just one of those special days. I've been lying to you guys for a long time saying I wasn't nervous and there is no pressure. There was a lot of pressure to do it here."

Jeter, a twelve-time All Star selection who

The Big Lebowski 2011

By,

Walter locks Sobchak Security’s front door and walks to his van at approximately 9PM on Sunday, May 1. He turns on the radio and learns Usama Bin Laden has reportedly been killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan.

“What happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass,” mutters Walter while shaking his head with a satisfied smirk.

Walter calls The Dude on his cell phone to inform him of the breaking news. The Dude expresses little interest as he tells Walter he is smoking a joint and enjoying a relaxing bath. Similarly, Walter pays no attention to The Dude’s reefer-induced briefing. He is entirely concentrating on details of the successful assassination of the world’s most wanted terrorist.

Boston Massacre: Randy Couture kills James Toney at the TD Garden posted on 08/29/2010
NABO and IBA heavyweight boxing champion James “Lights Out” Toney was
embarassed in his mixed martial arts debut Saturday night against UFC
Hall of Famer Randy Couture in the octagon at UFC 118 at Boston’s TD
Garden.

Couture (19-10) immediately tossed Toney (0-1) to the mat with ease
and managed to submit the portly puglist with an arm triangle choke at
3:19 of the opening round.

Toney (72-6-3-2, 44 KOs), named Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year in
both 1991 and 2003, was a very skilled prizefighter who won titles in
multiple weight classes.

However, Toney is also a hideous physical specimen who was twice
pinched for using the steroids boldenone and stanozolol.

“Toney couldn’t have beaten Couture in his prime and he thought he

A 1981 "Sugar" Ray Leonard versus a 2009 "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather posted on 08/25/2010

A welterweight bout pitting a 1981 "Sugar" Ray Leonard versus a 2009 "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather would have been a fascinating battle of tremendous skills and contrasting styles.

Leonard (36-3-1, 25 KOs), who captured a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and was the first prizefighter to earn in excess of $100 million in purses, is widely considered one of the greatest pugilists of all-time.

"Sugar Ray," the winner of five world titles in five weight divisions, managed to trump future fellow International Hall of Fame inductees Wilfred Benitez (53-8-1, 31 KOs), Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns (61-5-1, 48 KOs), Roberto "Manos de piedra" Duran (103-16, 70 KOs) and Marvelous Marvin Hagler (62-3-2, 52 KOs) before he finally hung-up his gloves for good in March 1997.

Randy Couture will knock James Toney "Light Out" in two weeks in Boston posted on 08/18/2010

NABO and IBA heavyweight boxing champion James “Lights Out” Toney will make his mixed martial arts debut August 28 against UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture in the octagon at UFC 118 at Boston’s TD Garden.

Toney (72-6-3-2, 44 KOs), named Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year in both 1991 and 2003, was a very skilled prizefighter who won titles in multiple weight classes.

However, Toney is also a hideous physical specimen who was twice pinched for using the steroids boldenone and stanozolol.

“Toney couldn’t have beaten Couture in his prime and he thinks he can even compete with him now in the condition he’s in,” questioned Brad Sherwood, a trainer at Gold’s Gym in Medford.

Nevertheless, for whatever reason, UFC President Dana White has expressed confidence that Toney can flourish in the world of mixed martial arts.
